Conference Overview

Sadly, we have had to postpone S3xD from the intended September 12, 2009 date. We do not have a reschedule date as of yet. Thank you for your interest.

The Social Software Strategy & Interaction Design Conference is a day long event bringing together today's leading experts in the emerging field of social interaction design.

The day follows a progression starting with why social software strategy and interaction design is essential, delving into research foundations, models and theories built on top of the research, moving into implementation and strategy guidance, and finally how this impacts the use of these tools and services.

This conference focuses on the overlap of interaction design (user experience) and sociality, which are two of the four essential elements for social software success. The other two are tools (the features, functions and value) and adoption assistance strategy. The intersection of interaction design and sociality is often the weakest intersection, which inhibits use and broad adoption of social tools.

Most often these issues arise when the services hit the six month to one year adoption marks. This often leads to this understanding being unexplored, which hinders success and often translates to an expensive endeavor for many organizations.

It is very valuable, indeed mission critical, for successful social tools implementations for organizations to get the lessons learned up front, as well as how to think through these many factors early to minimize both the risk of investment and surprises. Getting these important lessons from those who have researched, designed, developed, deployed, and used tools through key milestones over the last 2 to 20 years is what this day is all about.
